Ruth Phillips

Ruth Phillips, 84, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 in a local hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from Coppingers after twelve years of service and was a homemaker. Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Jesse Robinson and Lillie Fortner Robinson and was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Albert Robinson and Elmer Robinson. She is survived by her husband of 65 ½ years whom she dearly loved, Thomas E. "Skeet" Phillips of Cleveland; three children: Ann Waldrop and husband, Jim of Birmingham, AL, Ricky Phillips and wife, Eva and Barry Phillips and wife, Patty all of Cleveland; six grandchildren: Kim deRoos, Darrell Waldrop, Karen McGrath, Christie Corbin, Dustin Phillips and Paige Goins and nine great-grandchildren; one twin brother, Floyd Robinson of Ooltewah; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Dr. Timothy deRoos officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Darrell Waldrop, Dustin Phillips, Brandon Nations, Randy Corbin, Tim de Roos, Chris McGrath, Tim Goins will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gabe Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Andrew Bunch and Hunter Goins. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Cleveland Masonic Lodge #134 F&AM, 60 Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN 37311.
