Gregory Alan Poteet, 49, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a graduate Bradley Central High School. He was employed by Norfolk-Southern Railway. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and the outdoors, especially boating. He was preceded in death by his father Glen Thomas Poteet Sr. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Kimberly Poteet; daughters, Savanah and Allie Rose Poteet: mother, Juanita Poteet; sisters: Kelley Dixon of Cleveland, Karen Poteet of Tucson, AZ.; brother, Tom Poteet, also of Eugene, OR. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Pastor Debbie Stokes of Broad Street United Methodist Church will be officiating with Danny Ray Wilson as guest speaker. The body will be cremated.
