George Park Jr.

George "Rick" Park, Jr., 60, a resident of Riceville passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 in an Athens hospital. He was camp commander of the Sons of the Confederacy. Rick was an auxiliary member of Claxton Volunteer Fire Department and was also a member of the Alpaca Association. He was employed with Funeral Services. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, George R. Park, Sr. and Joyce Hayes Park. He is survived by his wife Vickie Hollifield Park of Riceville; children, George Richard Park III of San Francisco, CA, Susan Park Hembree of Harriman, TN, Asa Flowers of Benton and John Downing of Riceville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Sarah Hollifield and husband, Brian of Riceville; special cousins, Sherry Park, Shari Horton and Ann McElrath all of Cleveland; several aunts and uncles also survive. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Dr. Shane Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery.
