Wilma Matherley Bender, 77, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012, at a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She was a member of Central Church of Christ. She was a former employee of Barnett Bank and Duracell. Mrs. Bender was the daughter of the late Ernest E. Matherley and Ada Lee Dixon Matherley and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Bender and siblings, Buddy Matherley, Frank H. Matherley, Sr. and Virginia Ratcliff. She is survived by her husband, Irl Gordon Bender of Cleveland; children, Cheryl Landolt, Sheila Kinney, Melanie Copeland, and twins, Derek Bender and Eric Bender; grandchildren, Pamela Denise Landolt Wilson, Brad Anthony Carroll, Brandie Copeland, Matthew Landolt, James Copeland, Steven Baughn Kinney, Amber Lynn Adams, Michael Adam Bender, Chad Lucas Bender and Derek Shane Bender; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Lillian Painter, Thomas Matherley and Clara Haselden; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Jeff Archey, Minister Stephen Hall, and Minister Jerry Clements officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Brad Carroll, Matthew Landolt, Steven Kinney, Chad Bender, Adam Bender, Vineet Wilson and Shane Bender serving as pallbearers.
