William H. Wilson, 81, a resident of Rome, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 in a Cleveland healthcare facility. He was born on June 29, 1930 to Allen Leslie Wilson and Ona Bell Wilson in Ozark, Arkansas. Mr. Wilson served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and flew 19 combat missions into North Korean airspace. He married his first and only wife, Sylvia, at the age of 37. He was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Rome, Georgia. He pastored four Pentecostal churches and assisted as a lay minister in several others. Mr. Wilson was a carpenter for most of his career and enjoyed finish carpentry the most. He had twelve brothers and sisters. He is survived by three of his siblings: Bill Wilson in Fort Worth, Texas, Preston Wilson in Liberty, MO and Faye Sanders in Grants Pass, OR; two sons: Mark Wilson of Atlanta, GA and Aaron Wilson of Cleveland, TN and one grandson whom he thought the world of , Gavin Wilson of Cleveland, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Norman Mullins and Reverend Mike Grace officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Floyd Memory Gardens in Rome, Georgia. His family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
