Katie Parks Sizer

Katie Parks Sizer, 71, a native of Cleveland, TN, passed away December 16, 2011, in Nashville. She graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1958, and from UT Chattanooga. For over 30 years, Katie was a school teacher and was named Nashville Teacher of the Year. Katie was a loving, caring person. She treasured her family and friends and kept in touch with cards, calls and notes. She was loved by all and will be sadly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Sizer and her parents, Mary Frances and Julian Parks. Katie is survived by her sister, Julie Horn and husband Vaughn; nieces and nephews: Luanne Helms, Shannon Lawson and husband Kenny, Mary Newberry and husband Robbie, and Jeff White and wife Kim; great nieces and great nephews: Natalie Newberry and Taylor, Carson, and Ashton White. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Fort Hill Cemetery with Mike Brown, a cousin from Hendersonville will officiate at her service along with great niece, Natalie Newberry.
