James Kenneth DeLay

James K. DeLay, 73, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011. He attended Lighthouse Ministries and enjoyed watching JSM Christian Network. He worked for John Lewis of Lewisco Auction and Realty where he retired in 1993. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was devoted to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the son of the late Jim DeLay and Esteleene Delay Woods. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles DeLay and sister, Evelyn DeLay. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye DeLay of Cleveland; sons, Mike DeLay and his wife, Melissa and Ronnie DeLay, all of Cleveland; daughters, Joy DeLay, Gayla Guy and husband, Willie and Tammy Couch and husband, Terry, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Tony DeLay and wife Missy, Paul DeLay, Beth Guy, Lamanda Bowers, Nicholas Guy and wife, Jennifer, Michael DeLay, Nina Couch, Patrick Guy and Zach Couch, all of Cleveland; great children, Abbey DeLay, Tony DeLay, Jr., Emma Evans, Hannah Bowers and Katelyn Guy, all of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Buck Beavers and the Reverend Mike DeLay officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30 on Tuesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors and a dove release ceremony. Tony DeLay, Paul DeLay, Nicholas Guy, Michael DeLay, Patrick Guy and Zach Couch will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Guy, Terry Couch, Kevin Arrowood and Nathan Goodwin.
