Joy M. Storie Parris, 80, a resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church, of Chattanooga, TN. She was a school teacher for 32 years. Mrs. Parris was the daughter of the late Clayton Storie and Rema Crouch Storie Conner and was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Benton Parris; siblings, Joe Harrison Storie and Jack Winton Storie. She is survived by her three children: Brenda S. Maples of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, Mary L. Miller and husband, Daniel E. Miller of Murphy, North Carolina and Jamie K. Parris of Monroe, TN; two grandchildren, Marcus Hindmon of Cleveland, TN and Matthew Hindmon of Dixon, MO ; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Burma Thornell and husband, Richard Thornell of Sulpher Springs, IN Brenda Johnson and husband, Delbert Johnson of Wilmington, North Carolina and Kathy Parris and husband, Paul Parris of Kingsport, TN; in-laws, Thomas Parris and wife, Nell Parris of Dawson, Georgia, Marshall Parris and wife, Natalie Parris of Monroe, TN, Paul Parris and wife, Kathy Parris of Kingsport, TN and Frances M. Parris of Chattanooga, TN; special friend, Barbara Davis of Chattanooga, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Segrest officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, TN. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the funeral home prior to the service.
