Anna Lou Beard

Anna Lou Beard, age 101 passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Bradley Rehab and Healthcare Center in Cleveland, TN. She was a resident of Old Fort, TN. She was a member of Blue Ridge Temple Baptist Church. She loved nature and was an avid gardener all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Harley Beard, Sr., one daughter, Edith Baldree, two sons-in-law, Frank Norwood and Roy Guthrie; five brothers, Pat, Woodrow, Wayne, Claude and Drewry Higgins and nieces and nephews. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Guthrie of Cleveland, TN and Catherine Norwood of Cartersville, GA and one son, George Beard, Jr. of Byhalia, Mississippi; one son-in-law, Don Baldree of Cleveland; seven grandchildren: Ken Guthrie of Cleveland, TN, Dr. G. Mitchell Baldree of Chattanooga, Tom Norwood of Cartersville, GA, Brandon Beard of Memphis, TN, Benjamin Beard of New Orleans, LA, Jerry and Michael Beard of Maple Shade, New Jersey and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Leroy Elliott officiating. Interment will follow in Boanerges Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends one hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
