Joseph F Morfield

Joseph F. Morfield, 59, a resident of Sweetwater, TN, and a former resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away in a Knoxville hospital on Thursday, August 18, 2011. He was a former parishioner of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Chattanooga, TN. He was retired career military in the U.S. Army where he served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam, retiring as Master Sergeant. After retirement, he was employed at the Chattanooga Post Office for 7 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Dallie Lowe Morfield. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Loraine Morfield of Sweetwater, TN; 4 children-William Morfield of Cleveland, Russell Morfield of Sweetwater, Eva Foster of Athens, and David Morfield of Rock Castle, KY; 2 daughters by choice-Jennifer Cansler of Cleveland and Amy Howell of Athens; 12 grandchildren and 2 grandchildren by choice; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-William James Morfield and David Jake Morfield, both of Cleveland; and also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at 12:00 noon, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Monday, August 22, 2011, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
