Yvonne Lawson

S. Yvonne Lawson, 73, a resident of Birchwood passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 in a local hospital with her loving family at her side. She attended Meadowview Baptist Church and Birchwood Baptist Church. She participated in the Meadowlarks Senior Neighbors and was formerly on the McInturf Cemetery Committee. She retired from Duracell after 25 years of service. Mrs. Lawson was the daughter of the late Charles Holland Moon and Judy Belle Pendergrass Moon and was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Lawson; sister, Bernice Lane and brother, P.A. Moon. She is survived by her four children: Mike Lawson and wife Karen Lawson, Randy Lawson and wife Shirley Lawson, Jeff Lawson, Abby McClure and husband Billy McClure all of Birchwood; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Muriel Priddy of Ooltewah; one brother, L. J. (James) Moon of Harrison; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in McInturf Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Jimmy Moon, Denny Moon, Ronnie Priddy, Charlie Lawson, Jason Lawson, Jeffrey Lawson and L.J. Cordell will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the funeral home.
