Ruth L. Prickett, 77, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the family residence. She was a member of New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She served as a Librarian for Bradley County Schools for 25 years. She was the daughter of the late Jacob Lawson and Ira McDaris Lawson and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Prickett, Sr.; siblings, Carroll Lawson, Sr., Jacob Lawson, Jr., Charmie Chapman and Martha Lawson. She is survived by her son, Billy Prickett, Jr. and wife, Kay Prickett of Jacksonville, AL and daughter, Debra Wheeler and husband, Ricky Wheeler of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren: Jacob Wheeler and wife, Ashleigh Wheeler of Columbia, SC, Ethan Wheeler, Rebekah Wheeler both of Cleveland, Tyler Prickett of Knoxville and Jason Prickett and wife Christina Prickett of Winder, GA; great-grandchild, Chloe Wheeler of Columbia, SC; step sister, Irene Murray of Cleveland; special nephew, Carroll “Bud” Lawson of Etowah. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Joe Collins and Carroll Lawson, III officiating. Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2011 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Jacob Wheeler, Ethan Wheeler, Tyler Prickett, Jason Prickett, Russell Sneed and Carroll Lawson, III will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the funeral home prior to the service.
