Alvin Lee Foster

Alvin Lee Foster, 72, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the family residence. He was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ. He was the owner and operator of Foster Auto Parts for 45 years. He loved to hike in the mountains, fish and travel. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Mr. Foster was the son of the late Arlie W. Foster and Jessie Lea Kelley Foster and was also preceded in death by his brother, J.D. Foster and his infant brother E.T. Foster. Survivors include his wife Frances Foster of Cleveland; one sister, Rhoda Smith of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Shirley Foster of Cleveland; one nephew, D.J. Foster and wife April of Cleveland; one niece, Athena Gilbert and husband, Roger of Cleveland; one great niece, Madyson Foster; four great nephews, Adam Foster, Nathan Gilbert, Jeremy Gilbert and Kevin Gilbert; two great-great nieces and one great-great nephew. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Steve Hall and Minister Bill Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Glen Davenport, Roger Gilbert, Adam Foster, Nathan Gilbert, Jeremy Gilbert and Michael H. Shouse will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Cartwright, Winford Howell, Cecil Davis, Eugene McCracken, Kevin Gilbert and Walter Paluch. His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the funeral home.
