Nellie Arwood Murphy

Nellie Arwood Murphy, 80, of Cleveland and formerly of Memphis, TN passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at home. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She met and cherished many friends at Sunday school especially Elizabeth Maierle and Freda Fincher. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 46 years, Sanford W. Murphy, Jr. (Buddy) as well as her parents; four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Patti Stevenson and her husband Ben of Cleveland, TN and Donna Houston and her husband, Gary of Middletown, DE., five grandchildren: Dustin, Alex and Austyn Stevenson, Brian and Lindsey Houston and her life time friend, Phyllis Freirmuth of Cleveland. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Funeral services and interment will be held at Forest Hill South in Memphis, TN on Friday, June 24, 2011.
