Edwin E Mowrer

Edwin E. Mowrer, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where he served as a greeter and on security for eighteen years. He retired as credit manger with a major bank. He was a veteran of the United States Air force. Mr. Mowrer was the son of the late Ed and Madeline Mowrer. He is survived by his wife, Claudette Mowrer of Cleveland; one daughter Doreen “Dee” Griffith of Cleveland; two sons: Colan Mowrer and wife Kathy of Asheville, NC and Larry Mustain of Lauderhill, Florida; grandson, Dylan Griffith of Cleveland; other grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. A white dove ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
