Lucille Norman Curbow, a life long resident of Cleveland, went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She was a fifth grade elementary school teacher at Trewhitt School (Lake Forest) for several years. She was a member of Hopewell Church of God. Mrs. Curbow volunteered in the Adult Reading and Basic Education Program. She also volunteered in the Cleveland Public Service Unit of the Cleveland Police Department. She loved camping, gardening and travel. Mrs. Curbow was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Rosa L. Randolph Norman and was the widow of J. Melford Curbow and was also preceded in death by two brothers Liston and Ennis Norman; four sisters, Sylvia Britt, Pearl Ward, Lillie Goodwin and Hazel Ledford. Survivors include her sister, Marie Sutton of Lexington, KY; two sisters-in-law, Jena Norman of Cleveland and Betty Curbow of Ocoee; step daughter, Peggy Curbow Morrison of Old Fort; four nieces: Jean Cochran of Cleveland, Linda Parks of Jonesborough, Lisa Ward of VA and Jennifer Sutton-Joanisse of London, Ontario; five nephews: Ray Norman of Cleveland, Gary Goodwin of Connecticut, Jeffrey Ward of Virginia, Keith Norman of Como, Italy and Eric Sutton of Seoul, Korea. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Millwood officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove ceremony concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the funeral home prior to the service.
