J Mark Ward

J. Mark Ward departed this earth July 30, 2011, after succumbing to injuries following an automobile accident. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Monty and Dorothy Ward McFadden; maternal grandparents, Jewel and Lucille Burnette; and his uncle, Don Ward. Survivors include: his beloved parents, John P. and Elaine Ward; his faithful brother, David Ward; the love of his life, his son, Colton Ward; the mother of his son, Rene Whigham, her husband Chad; and special little man to his Uncle Mark, Caleb Whigham; his step-grandfather, Laurel McFadden; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Jim Gibson. Interment will be held Tuesday morning, August 2, 2011, at 11:00 am in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chad Whigham, Chris Everett, Mike Ward, Ernie Droke, Rick Green, and Dustin McPherson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Walker Valley Baseball team and coaches. The family will receive friends Monday evening, August 1, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Building Fund and the Walker Valley Baseball team.
