Kenneth Larry Higdon, 55, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Polk County. He was also a member of the Cleveland/Chattanooga Dart Association. He was employed with Whirlpool for 23 years. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jerry Wells and his son, Joe (Bubba) Wright. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Marla Kay Young Higdon of Cleveland; mother, Wilma Wells; children and spouses: Angie and Steven Epperson of Cleveland, Candice and Brad Holcomb of Winston Salem, NC and Tanda Higdon and Quinton Bennett of Cleveland; seven grandchildren: Cody, Katie, Courtney and Gracie Epperson, Jayden Holcomb and Jada and Quinton Bennett; sister and spouse, Debbie and James Price of Benton; two brothers, Mike Wells and Dennis Wells both of Georgia, and step-sister Christy and spouse Tracy Reece of Cleveland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor John Bevins officiating. Interment will follow in McInturf Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Dennis Belcher, DeWayne White, Jason Keith, Eddie Morrow, Steven Goodwyn, Tommy Cross, Ken Wilson, Tim Graves and Charles McClaren will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at the funeral home.
