Cody Cross

Cody Cross, 19, a resident of Birchwood passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on May 31, 1991. He was employed with Ken Garner Manufacturing in Chattanooga. He was a volunteer for Highway 58 Fire Department and was currently attending fire training on Amnicola Highway in Chattanooga, TN. He graduated from Sequoyah Vocational Center in 2009. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his mother and father, Anna Womack and Randy Cross both of Birchwood; fiancée’ Amber Smith of Sale Creek, TN; sisters: Teri and Tiffany Cross and Paisley May all of Birchwood; grandparents, Ruth and Roy Cross and Reetha and Wayne Womack all of Birchwood and Cathy Ray of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Farris and Pastor Emory Layne officiating. Interment will follow in Goodner Cemetery near Birchwood with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Dennis Womack, Jesse Mooney, Brandon Maynard, Casey Maynard, Justin Thomas and Steven Shahan will serve as pallbearers.
