Polly Hayes

Polly Hayes, 87, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Before her retirement, she was employed at Sears in the credit department. She was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Audie Sinor Walker, her daughter, Janice Williams, grandson, Mike Williams and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Sherrill Hayes of Old Fort; one son, James Hayes of Old Fort; two grandchildren: Lori MacKensie of Chapel Hill, and Shelly Gurda of Murfreesboro; five great grandchildren; one sister, Jo Marley of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor George Bulson officiating. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
