Dorothy Lene Duggan Ownby, 79, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the family residence. She attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was the owner and operator of Ownby Florist for over 40 years. Mrs. Ownby was the daughter of the late Dave Duggan and Ethel Groomes Duggan and was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Leon Ownby; three brothers, Harold Duggan, Clarence Duggan and Bill Duggan. She is survived by her three children and spouses: Randy and Gerry Ownby, Steve and Tricia Ownby and Gloria Ownby all of Cleveland; six grandchildren and spouses: Jill and Billy Middlebrooks of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, Amanda (Mandy) and Joe Parker of Benton, Tyler Forgey of Cleveland, Nicholas Forgey of Nashville, Caressa Thompson and Charity O’Neal both of Cleveland; thirteen great-grandchildren: Jacob Thompson, Anna Marie Thompson, Shyla Thompson, Tucker Thompson, Adrian O’Neal of Cleveland, Aden O’Neal of Cleveland, Christina Davidson, Chasity Rhodes, Austin Middlebrooks, Micah Middlebrooks all of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, Kevin Dodd, Brooke Parker and Braden Parker all of Benton; four great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Margaret Duggan of Cleveland; two sisters and brothers-in-law : Evelyn and Charles Beck of Cleveland and Edna Officer and Karl Cook of Florida, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Huff of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011.
