Gladys Ruth Burgner Harlan

Gladys Ruth Burgner Harlan, 81, a native and a resident of Cleveland passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at her home. She resided in Mobile, AL for 40 years. She was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Elmo Harlan, Jr.; parents, Oscar Lee Burgner and Ezuba Axie Morgan Burgner; sister, Sylvia B. Finch; and brother, Lloyd J. Burgner. She is survived by her children: Connie Kay Baker of Tallassee, AL, Laura Lea Brock of Titus, AL and Samuel Paul Harlan, Sr. of Meridian, Mississippi; 4 grandchildren: Nickolas Harlan, Jason Brock, Allison Brock and Samuel Harlan, Jr.; 2 great grandchildren: Karleigh Parrish and Bailey Parrish; 1 sister, Hazel Burgner Bird of Cleveland; 1 brother-in-law, Richard Bird of Cleveland; and all her dear friends and loved ones at Union Grove Church of Christ. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Steve Hall officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Union Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with a white dove release concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
