Robert G Botts

Robert G. Botts, 83, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 at a local hospital, surrounded by his family. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired funeral director and insurance salesman. Though he suffered from Parkinson’s Disease, he kept active until the last 10 years of his life. He loved woodworking, playing guitar, singing gospel music and vacationing in Daytona Beach. He was the son of the late Zady Belle Parris Botts and Wade Allen Botts. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Botts, grandchildren Abigail and Nicholas Hultman and siblings: Jessie Botts Moore, Betty Botts Evans, Ernestine Botts McClure, Dewey Botts, Winston Botts, Edgar Botts and an infant sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Donna A. Botts, of Cleveland; two sons: Arnold E. Botts and wife Vicki of Cleveland; Terry G. Botts and his wife Michelle of Greenville, TN; two daughters: Vicki Branson of Cleveland, Jennifer Botts Hultman and husband Shawn of Cleveland; grandchildren: Stephanie Botts Conner (Brandon Conner), Eric Botts, Casey Botts, (Brianne) Andrew Botts (Lauren), Tillman T. Branson, Courtney Botts, Alexander Hultman and Chloe Hultman; great-grandchildren: Maggie Conner, Sam Conner and Weston Botts; one brother, Luther Botts and one sister, Beulah Botts Hall both of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the funeral home prior to the service.
