Shirley Dell Woods

Shirley Dell Myers Woods, 76, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 4, 2011. She was a member of East Cleveland Baptist Church. She was very active in church and preached her own funeral while alive. She was an avid doll maker and loved doing crafts and gardening. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Henry Kenneth Woods, parents, R. T. and Lora Myers, daughter, Sonya Luan Holman, infant grandson, Jonathan David Staton, one brother, Bill Myers, two sisters, Ann Swafford and Faye Brock; and also her special cock-a-poo Buffy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and David Staton of Cleveland; two granddaughters: Casi Hodges and husband Ryan of Mobile, AL, and Tandi Walker and husband Tyler of Cleveland; three great grandchildren: Will and Kati Hodges and Grace Elizabeth Ann Walker; four brothers: Ray Myers, Willis "Cotton" Myers, J. D. Myers, all of Cleveland, and J. C. "Knobby" Myers of Calhoun; four brothers-in-law: Ernest Woods, Daniel Woods, Roy Woods and Johnny Franklin Woods, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Ronnie Pearson and nephew William Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens concluding with a white dove release ceremony. Thomas Rogers, Justin Myers, Travis Humberd, Steron Nichols, Mark Myers and Cody Morgan will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 4 ? 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
