Martha Gibson

Martha Gibson, 93, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. Mrs. Gibson was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Shields and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Gibson, son, Darrel Franklin Gibson; one grandchild, Debbie Gibson; three sisters: Hazel Holt, Marie Gibson and Stella Pruitt. She is survived by her three children: Shirley Graham and husband, Harold, Wayne Gibson and wife Charlotte and Doyle Gibson and wife Judy; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two; step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Frank Nolen officiating. Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Garry White, David Allen, Mike Hinkle, Greg Ball, Nick Burnette and Alan Gibson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Holloway.
