Thomas Rayburn

July 9, 1948 — September 22, 2010

Thomas M. Rayburn, 62, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, following a short illness. A native of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Frances Latham Rayburn and Malcolm H. ?Sam? Rayburn and was retired from Honeywell Corporation. He was currently employed with SkyRidge Medical Center. He attended Leilehua High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was a graduate of McMinn Central, Cleveland State Community College, and Covenant College. He attended North Cleveland Church of God. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Brenda Smith Rayburn of Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Nisa and Dr. Charles M. Hooper III of Chattanooga and Tria and Jeremy Montgomery of Cleveland. He is also survived by a brother, Robert ?Bob? Randolph of Cleveland and sister and brother-in-law, Shelia and Tommy Park of Chattanooga. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the United States also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Saturday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Park, nephew of the deceased officiating. Burial will be Sunday at 2:00 at the South Liberty Cemetery in Riceville with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be cousin and nephews, Andrew Smith, Steve Mason, and Brandon Park, also Keith Montgomery, Matt Boyd, and Kyle Montgomery. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 3:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
