William A. Cain, 83, a resident of Cleveland and a former resident of Ohio passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in an East Ridge Retirement Center. He was of the Church of God faith. He was retired from General Motors and a member of the United Auto Workers. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Cain was the son of the late Michael Cain and Maymie Kirby Cain and was also preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Cain. He is survived by his son, Gregory Cain of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Aimee Cain of Cleveland and Mandee Keith of Chattanooga; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace Cain, Alexandria Cain both of Cleveland and Matthew Keith of Chattanooga; three sisters, Della Chasteen and husband, Herbert of Oxford, Ohio, Norma Smith of Washington and Dorothy Gentile of Hamilton, Ohio; one brother, Mike Cain of Hamilton, Ohio; special friend, Chris Smith of Hixson, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Reverend Max Morris will officiate the service. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
