Glenda Sue Whaley

Glenda Sue Whaley, 58, a resident of Decatur, passed away Saturday, November 06, 2010 at the family residence. She was of the Church of God faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Grissom and Eliza McCormick Grissom; sisters: Geneva Shelton, Wanda Haggard, Gurtie Moore; brothers: Junior Grissom, Johnny Grissom, Earnest Grissom, Wallace Grissom, Gordon McCormick, Wayne Grissom and Jimmy Grissom. She is survived by one daughter, Neva Floyd of Ocoee; three grandchildren: Jonathan Lee Dale, Richard Leon Burton, Jr. and Jamie Lynn Burton; one great grandchild, Kaydence Glynn Nathaniel Burton; two sisters: Barbara Bishop of Decatur and Judy Gentry of Charleston; four brothers: Lloyd “Peanut” Grissom of Cleveland; James Grissom and J.C. Grissom both of Decatur and William McCormick of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Josh Taylor and the Reverend Ray Cheatham officiating. Interment will follow in Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
