James Paul McGuire, 86, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 in a Cleveland hospital. He retired from the Hardwick Stove Company after 34 years of employment where he served in the capacity as supervisor in the Carpenter and Utility Departments. He was a member of the Community Hall Church. His hobbies included woodworking and photography. He served in the United States Army beginning in the year of 1943 through 1945. During his service in the military he fought in four military campaigns including Normandy Invasion, Northern France, Central Europe and the Rhineland. Mr. McGuire was the son of the late Zeb Vance McGuire and Martha Elizabeth McGuire and was also preceded in death by wife, Mary Frances McGuire; sons, Terry McGuire and Paul McGuire; brothers: Ray Gene McGuire and Ralph McGuire. He is survived by his son and spouse, Clyde and Kathee McGuire of Mobile, Alabama; grandson and wife, Marc and April McGuire of Mobile, Alabama; three granddaughters: Melissa, Lauren and Megan all of Mobile, Alabama; great-granddaughters: Molly and Mia McGuire both of Mobile, Alabama; sisters: Myra Grace Frazier and Ruth Holcomb both of Cleveland; daughter-in-law. Genia McGuire, wife of the late Terry McGuire; close friends, June Swafford, Trudy Smith, Lillie Crye and B.B. Keith all of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Guinn Green officiating. Military honors will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the funeral home prior to the service.
