Tressie Jane Jones

Tressie Jane Jones, 89, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She retired from Bradley County Agricultural Extension Office after 25 years of service. Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary Elizabeth Elrod Minick and was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jones; three brothers, Miles Minick, Eric Minick and Herbert Minick; one sister, Georgia Minick Phillips. She is survived by two children: Jesse L. Jones and wife Sue of Athens, TN and Eugene “Junebug” Jones and wife Chong of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren: Jesse Scott Jones of Cleveland, TN, Tammy Kenemer of Rocky Face, GA, Jeffrey Britt Jones of Knoxville, TN and Gena Beavers of Chatsworth, GA; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Sweet Osment and husband, Billy of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Robert L. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Jesse Scott Jones, Britt Jones, Robby Case, Kyle Harrow, Jesse C. Jones, Dylan Jones and Wesley Beavers will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the funeral home.
