Ruby B. Stansberry Thomas, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010, in a local nursing facility. She was of the Christian faith. She retired from Allied Bendix Corp. following 22 years of service and was also formerly employed with Charleston Hosiery Mill and Duplan. She was a Gray Lady at Bradley Memorial Hospital for many years and enjoyed reading, helping others, and watching OK Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Bud" Thomas, her parents, Dewey and Leona Jackson Stansberry, three brothers: William Lee Stansberry, Thomas Dewey Stansberry and Gene Stansberry, and one sister, Evelyn L. Burris. She is survived by her siblings and their spouses: Bobby A. and Wilma Stansberry of Cleveland, Rev Kenneth W. and Jeanette Stansberry of Cleveland, James D. Stansberry of Charleston, Don R. Stansberry of Charleston, Barbara Mae Burris of Cleveland, and Nancy N. and William Sneed of Cleveland; sisters-in-law: Beatrice Stansberry of Charleston and Betty Stansberry of Athens; brother-in-law, Joe Burris of Calhoun; special friend, Elmer Beard of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews and many friends at Allied Bendix Corp. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Grady Simpson and Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens concluding with a white dove release ceremony. Donnie Stansberry, Jeff Stansberry, Charles Stansberry, Tim Stansberry, Darryl Sneed, Josh Stansberry and Tyler Stansberry will serve as pallbearers.
