Jarvie Howard Spence, 60, of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010 in a local hospital. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was an employee of Norris Towing for 35 years. He was an avid bowler. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Spence; father, Thomas Spence; sister, Irene Abraham; brother, Thomas F. Spence; father-in-law, Jay Bledsoe; sisters-in-law, Racine Spence and Norma Wooten; brother-in-law, Charles Bledsoe; nephew, Steven Spence; niece, Nancy Spence; aunts, Ollie Spears, Rennie May and Juanita Young; uncles, Ermil Howard and Seymore Spears. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Spence; daughters, Selina Spence, Tonya Casson and husband, Kelcey, Crystall Spence and Angela Mitchell and husband, Robb; sons, Daniel Stewart and David Stewart and wife, Trish and two other daughters and one son; grandsons, Alex Sebastian Stewart and baby boy Mitchell; siblings, Joe Spence and wife, Renee, Meredith Spence, Nora Jean White, Mary Varney and husband, Pat, Sally Smith and husband, Billy, Judy Wessoleck and husband, Freddy and Jeff Spence and wife, Sally and Sissy Opal; sisters-in-law, Elaine Hess and Faye Smith and husband, David; and a lot of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Meredith Spence, Thomas Spence, Rusty Norris, Robb Mitchell, Kelcey Casson, Kevin Wooten and Daniel Stewart serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
