Melanie E. Burris, 55, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 in a local hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. Melanie loved the out-of-doors and enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time at Cocoa Beach, FL with her family. She was employed with Charleston Hosiery for 17 years
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mitzi Berge.
She is survived by her husband, Carson Burris of Cleveland; father, Darrell Anderson and wife, Kathy; mother, Clara Prock Anderson; children: Joshua Bird and wife, Angie and Kelli Farris and husband, Rob Jr.; four grandchildren: Mollie Farris, Sandra Bird, Hannah Bird, Candice Bird; one great grandchild, Layla all of Cleveland; brother, Mark Anderson of Cleveland; sisters: Ladena McCracken and husband, Patrick of Montgomery, AL and Shannon Vincent of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 2, 2015 at New Salem Baptist Church with Pastor A.C. Cooper officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service.
Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
