Margine Bishop Stepp
October 13, 1934 — January 11, 2015
Margine Bishop Stepp, 80, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. She loved to worship the Lord, also she loved pickin barn and playing the guitar and singing for audiences.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlin James Stepp; her parents, Virgil Bishop and Rosa Bell Maples Bishop; and her son Verlin Dale Stepp; grandson, Brandon Heath Stepp; two brothers, Jack Bishop and Virgil Bishop, Jr. and one sister, Georgette Smith.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Margie Sue Lee Stepp Bell of Cleveland; one grandson: Eric Dale Stepp of Cleveland; four great-grandchildren: Zachary Dale Stepp, Daniel Dale Stepp, Cameron Dale Stepp, and Candice Leann Stepp all of Cleveland; one sister, Evelyn Marie Haire of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Daniel White officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Stepp, Jody Crisp, Jimmy Robinson, Jeremy Bishop, Mike Ellison and George Long. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
