Ralph Edwin Edmiston, 93, a resident of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014. He was a native of Americas, KS and had lived in Cleveland and Lenoir City areas since 1997. He was of the Church of Christ faith. He was a loving father and husband who enjoyed the simple things of life. He was a veteran WWII serving in the Army and also the Air Force. He never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Edmiston was the son of the late Ralph Edmiston and Edith Haworth Edmiston and was also preceded in death by his sister, Neola Milich and a brother, John Edmiston.
Survivors include his loving wife, Fleeta Beech Edmiston of Lenoir City; one daughter, Maple Levine and husband, Don of Albuquerque, NM; nine step children: Charles Watson of Cleveland, Darleen Conley of Harrison, Virgil Watson of NC, Carey Watson of Cleveland, Hazel Stafford of Lenoir City, Kenneth Watson of Cleveland, Carl Watson of McDonald, Alisa Helton of Lenoir City and Robert Watson of Cleveland; one brother, Harold Edmiston and wife, Debbie of Spokane, WA; his beloved dog, Little Red; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor David Latham officiating. Interment will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
