Willie Louise Clemmer Farmer, 90, resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at a Chattanooga healthcare facility. Born in Loudon County, she has lived the majority of her life in Bradley County. She is of the Baptist faith. She worked at Charleston Hosiery Mill for over 30 years and also worked in Oak Ridge at the Y12 plant and was involved in the making of the atomic bomb. She enjoyed going on cruises and traveling to different countries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Farmer; mother, Rachel Ann Cansler Clemmer; parents, George Clemmer and Effie Clemmer; sisters, Ruby Farmer, Mary Ellen Warick, Etta Faye Clemmer, and Edna Bell Clemmer; brothers, Maxwell Clemmer, Joseph Roscoe Clemmer, and Walter Franklin Clemmer.
She is survived by one son, Clyde H. Farmer and wife Linda S. of Cleveland; three sisters, Margie Shirk and husband Larry of Athens, Minnie Katherine Teddar of Ruskin, FL, and Stella Burnette of Cleveland; one brother, Charles “Hubert” Clemmer and wife Agnes of Calhoun; several nieces and nephews, and other extended family members survive.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Grady Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the funeral home.
