Horace Lynn Melton

Horace Lynn Melton, “Hoss”, age 61, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was born in Bradley County and was a long-time resident of Cleveland, TN. He was employed at Maytag until 1998 when he was disabled. Lynn was an avid outdoorsman, and he loved his family and friends.
Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Horace “Bud” Melton, mother, Laverne Melton, brother, Steve Melton, father-in-law, Junior Green all of Cleveland, TN and son-in-law, Joshua Wilkison of Chattanooga, TN.
He leaves behind his dedicated wife, Helen Melton of Cleveland, TN, his son, James Melton and daughter-in-law, Alicia Baptista of Kingsport, TN, daughter, Jennie Wilkison of Chattanooga, TN, sisters, Sandra Dillard and Beverly Murray both of Cleveland, TN, mother-in-law, Irene Green of Cleveland, TN and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will hold a visitation at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 4-8 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at River Hills Church on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 7 p.m.
