Carl Edward Gladson, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his residence. He was a member of Samples Memorial Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Estell Gladson; daughters, Norma Jean Howard and Gwen Dean Gladson; grandson, Anthony (Tony) Howard; brothers, Roy, Walter, Will, Hershel, Jay, and Albert Gladson; and sisters, Lily Callihan, Edna Callihan, Margaret Hawkins, and Frances Bryson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Jewel (Gee) Gladson of Cleveland; son, Charles Gladson and wife Gail of Castlewood, VA,; two grandsons, David Gladson and wife Nina of Louisville, KY, and John Gladson and wife Lara of Hyde Park, NY; three great granddaughters, Lacy Cooper and husband Steven of Chatsworth, GA, Emily Defoor and husband Seth of San Diego, CA, and Kaylee Howard of Chatsworth, GA; great great grandson, Evan Cooper of Chatsworth, GA; sister, Dorothy Freeman; extended family, Sonny and Elisa Howard of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Lee Ingram and Reverend Mark Cameron officiating. Interment will be at Samples Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 with David Gladson, John Gladson, Carl Freeman, Danny Gladson, Sonny Howard, and Lee Gladson serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
