Lynette Painter

Lora Lynette Crews Painter, age 82, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on November 4, 2014 at her home.

She was born in Alma, Georgia, on January 31, 1932. Lynette graduated from Piedmont Nursing School in Atlanta, Georgia and worked as a pediatric nurse at the Tepper Clinic in Chattanooga, Tennessee and at Bradley Memorial Hospital in Cleveland, Tennessee. She later worked for Doctor William Proffitt in Cleveland.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Whit and Lora Lee Crews, and her loving husband of 50 years, L. Harlen Painter.

 Lynette will be greatly missed by her children, Barrett Painter (Elyn), Vicki Painter, and Beth Painter Robinson (Randy); her grandchildren, Sam Painter, Lauren Robinson, and Andrew Robinson; adopted grandson, Tyler Clayton (Rachel); brothers, Benny Ralph Crews (Catherine) and Jimmy Crews (Barbara); and several nieces and nephews.

 A devoted Christian wife, mother, and grandmother, Lynette adored her children and grandchildren. One of her greatest treasures in life was spending time with them. An active member of Broad Street United Methodist Church for over 50 years, Lynette was in the Fealty Sunday School Class and thoroughly enjoyed spending time in fellowship with her church family.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 7, at 11 a.m. at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Martin and Pastor William “Skip” White officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. Mike Connolly, Ted Carson, Scott Creech, Chris Wilds, Tommy Walker, Joe Cate, Bebo Harris, Jay Mullin, Ray Stephens, and Doug Coulter will serve as pallbearers.  The Fealty Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

 The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home as well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

 Her family has requested that memorials be made to Broad Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 3, Cleveland TN 37364 or to the charity of one’s choice.
