Alma Jean Beard

Alma Jean Beard, 73, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in Chattanooga healthcare facility.  She attended Pine Hill Church of God.  She loved yard sales and collecting tools.

She was preceded in death by her parents, French M. Beard and Gladys Wilcox Beard; siblings:  Hoover Beard, Beatrice Messer, Andrew Beard, Homer Beard, and Pearney Gates.

She is survived by her siblings:  I.M. Beard (Faye), Monita Chastain (Vance), Wanda Cross, Chessie Norman (George), Charles Beard (Shirley), Doyle Beard (Joyce), Vickie Prince (Robert), and Veta Greene; several nieces and nephews also survive; a special friend, Lori Cluster.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Doyle Prince officiating.  Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Larry Cross, Chad Cross, Stonie Cross, Heath Greene, Ricky Greene, and Chuck Norman serving as pallbearers.  Matthew Teague will serve as honorary pallbearer.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
