Alma J. Earls

Alma J. Earls, 86, a lifelong resident of McDonald, TN, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the family residence. She was a member of Bancroft Church of God.  She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a good cook and her family loved to eat her food.  She also enjoyed watching the wild life, cows and turkeys on her home property.

Mrs. Earls was preceded in death by her husband, Swan U. Earls who passed away in 1999.  She was also preceded in death by her son, David Earls; parents, George Thomas Bancroft and Millie Bancroft:  sisters and siblings, Maude Romires (Chester), Virgie Sherlin (Bob), Margie Murray (Thomas), Mildred Palmer (Ralph), brothers and siblings, Frank Bancroft (Rita), Otis Bancroft (Alberta), Howard Bancroft, Paul Bancroft (Lillie), and Smith Bancroft (Joyce).

She is survived by her children:  Dennis Earls and wife, Susan of Charleston, TN, and Darlene Sherlin of Polk County; grandchildren:  Crystal Winn (Jeff) of McDonald, Amanda Conckle (Josh) of Ringgold, GA, Bryan Earls of Charleston, SC, Matthew Earls of Charleston, SC, Lauren Evans (Randy) of Washington State; and Todd Sherlin of Cleveland; 3 great-grandchildren, Trevor Winn, Carter Conckle, and Harrison Conckle; sister-in-law, Sarah Bancroft; many nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
