Mattie A. Gibson

Mattie A. Gibson, 91, a native and lifelong resident of Cleveland.  She loved to dance and loved music. She enjoyed being a caregiver for the elderly, a nursery care provider for several local churches, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Stafford and Cordie Lingerfelt Stafford; her first husband, Jack Armour; her last husband, Isaac Gibson; son, Michael Armour; eight siblings.

She is survived by three children:  Brenda Brooks of Cleveland, Dennis Armour of Benton, and Debbie Armour Jackson of Riceville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. A private interment will be held. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive Suite 6, Chattanooga, TN  37421.
