Phillip Lynn Burress

d. April 5, 2017

Phillip Lynn Burress, 65, of Cleveland, TN entered heaven April 5, 2017.  A former resident of Princeton, Indiana, he retired from Cinergy Power Plant and later worked at Volunteer Energy Co-operative in Meigs County. Phil was a wonderful carpenter and landscaper as well.

Phil is survived by his wife and faithful caregiver, Lettie Kirkpatrick Burress and his son Dewayne (Heather) Burress and their three children. He is also survived by four stepsons, Adam (Tiffany), Logan (Liz), Judson (Jenny), and Zane Kirkpatrick and five step-grandchildren. Three siblings, Monica Freyberger, Kem Burress, and Kelly Burress also survive.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jenny Burress, his dad Beecher Burress, and his mother Mary Burress.

Phil’s endless optimism and and the courage that marked his incredible 5 year fight for stroke recovery impacted countless lives. His very full life will be celebrated at Waterville Baptist Church where he was a member. Doors will open Friday afternoon at 4:45 with the service beginning at 5:30.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Joni and Friends Disability ministry in Phil's memory.

We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the Burress family guestbook at www.ralphbuckner.com.
