James Orrison, 81, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home, surrounded by family.  He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church of Cohutta, GA, and a Master Guide of Pathfinders.  He graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Business Management.  He enjoyed bowling, golf, computers and woodworking.  James loved being outdoors and was a veteran of the United States Army.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Orpha Clay Orrison, and six brothers.

 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Shiels Orrison of Cleveland, TN; three children, Russell Orrison (Beverly) of Apison, TN; James Michael Orrison (Lora) of Cleveland, TN, and Jerilyn Pewsey of Collegedale, TN; six grandchildren: Michael Orrison, Alan Orrison, Kristopher Orrison, Kevin Orrison, Heather Harding and Matthew Pewsey; five great-grandchildren: Elliot Orrison, Wesley Orrison, Olivia Orrison and Aria and Madelyn Harding. Sister Joyce Balaski and several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday May 13, 2017 at the Cohutta Seventh-day Adventist church. A fellowship meal will immediately follow the service.

 

The family wishes to extend appreciation to Jill Duggan, RN, of Hospice of Chattanooga, for her devotion and loving care during a most difficult time.
