Carl Sherlin

Carl Sherlin, 85, of McDonald, went peacefully to be with the Lord Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  He was a life-long resident of McDonald, TN and a member of Bancroft Church of God.  He was a proud veteran that served his country as Special First Class Sergeant in the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55years, Gwyndlon Sherlin; parents, Roy Sherlin and Ada Marie Goodwin Sherlin; brothers, Theodore Sherlin and Ralph Sherlin and sisters, Wilma Goode and Onita Earls.    

He leaves behind to cherish his memory; seven children, Rosemary Wattson (Larry), Michael Sherlin (Tammy), Roy Sherlin (Camille), Steve Sherlin (Connie), C.J. Sherlin (Donna), Ricky Sherlin and Angela Sherlin; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Sherlin (Faye) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend William Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in Bancroft Church of God Cemetery with Rodney Wattson, Arty Staton, Jason Sherlin, Skylar Scoggins, Jacob Parker and Jimmy Parker serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearer will be Andrew Staton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the funeral home.
