Joyce Ruckman

Joyce Lena Scheffert Ruckman, 91, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at her residence.  She was born in Toledo, OH, and moved to Cleveland in 1978.  She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the Set Free Christian Fellowship.  She was employed with the Sylvania School Board in Sylvania, OH, for 23 years.  She received her CNA certificate at the age of 63 and volunteered in local nursing homes. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Raymond Ruckman; parents, Ernest Scheffert and Maude Belle Friend Scheffert; sister, Violet Campbell and twin sister, Eunice Leininger.

She is survived by her four daughters, Patricia Rand of Cleveland, Barbara Zion of Lawrenceville, GA, Jacqueline Viars, and Rhonda Kinches, both of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Charles (Chuck) Bennett, Jr., Trish and Rev. Tony Vismor, and Bud Kinches, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Chandler Vismor and Taylor Vismor; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend James Kent and Reverend Leroy Martin officiating.  Interment will follow in Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery with Chuck Bennett, Bud Kinches, Tony Vismor, Chandler Vismor, and Matt Ruckman serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
