Franklin Maynard Stiles

January 7, 1934 — June 18, 2017

Franklin Maynard Stiles, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the family residence.  He was born in North Carolina but spent the majority of his life in Bradley County.  He was a member of Council Baptist Church and attended North Cleveland Baptist Church the past ten years and was a member of the Men’s Number One Sunday School Class.  He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

 

Mr. Stiles was the son of the late John Stiles and Minnie Ross Stiles and was also preceded in death by his six brothers and three sisters.

 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jewel Parks Stiles of Cleveland; four children:  Eddie Stiles, Angelia Keasler and husband, Karl all of Cleveland, Debbie Godfrey of Charleston, and Maynard Stiles of Cleveland; six grandchildren:  Kisha Stiles, Edward Stiles and wife, Lindsey, Cody Godfrey, Catie Godfrey, and, Chloe Stiles, Chelsea Davenport and husband, Karl; seven great-grandchildren:  Adrain Cooper, Kallie Lathem, Zander Hayes, Masen Stiles, Kourtlin Godfrey, Carson Godfrey, and Emma Davenport; several nieces and nephews and extended family members also survive.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Dr. Jay McCluskey and Reverend Keith Watson officiating.  Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors and Edward Stiles, Adrian Cooper, Cody Godfrey, Tyler Stout, Eric Walters, and Kevin Goins serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

 

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY, 10016.
