Lena Marie Smith

Lena Marie Vines Smith, 77, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at a local health care facility.  A member of God’s House of Prayer, Mrs. Smith loved Arts and Crafts and all of her grandchildren and will be missed by all of those who knew her.

Born April 7, 1940 to the late George Clark Vines and Annie Marie Jackson Smith, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Varnell Smith; son, Ement Farnell Smith; grandson, Aaron Mathew Smith; and brother, Arnold Vines.

She is survived by children, Thelma Underwood (Bennett – deceased) of Cleveland, Glenda Cross (Eddie – deceased) of Cleveland, George Smith (Sue) of Cleveland, Rebecca Stinnett (Carl) of Benton, and Carassa Stinnett (John) of Benton; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Don Harris and Bishop John W McCann officiating.  Interment will follow at the New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.  A Dove Release ceremony with Bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
