Lucas Diaz

Lucas M. Diaz, 86, of McDonald, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017, at a local healthcare facility.  He was a member of McDonald Road Seventh Day Adventist Church and taught Theology in both Colombia and the Dominican Republic.  He was a Pastor in California, New York, Illinois and Florida, as well as a Professor of Theology and will be missed by all of those whose lives he touched.

Born October 18, 1930 in Puerto Rico to the late Sergio and Basilisa Sepulveda Diaz, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucila Diaz; daughter, Marlene Villanueva; brother, Eddie T Diaz; and sister, Betty Diaz.

He is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Kyle of McDonald; grandchildren, Nelson Kyle, Kristina Kyle, Annabelle Dortch (Loftin) of Pasadena CA, Wesley Villanueva (Kristen) of Orlando FL, Jessica Llewellin (Ricardo) of Orlando FL; great-grandchild, Jackson Villanueva; brothers, Woodrow Diaz of Puerto Rico, and Fred Diaz of Riverside CA; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Mr. Diaz’s life will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 in the Gospel Chapel at Collegedale Adventist Church, with Pastor Efrain Poloche officiating.  The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony and a message and song by Wesley Villanueva.
