Lucille Blevins Deakins

Lucille Blevins Deakins, 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away at her home on August 07, 2017. She was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed photography.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Blevins and Winnie Hutsell Blevins; sisters, Bonnie Long and Jewel Womac; and brother, Argile Blevins.

 

Lucille is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald Deakins; 2 sons: Terry Deakins of Lake Jackson, TX and Mark Allen (Artia) Deakins of Charleston; 5 grandchildren: Arthia Deakins, Sueanna Adams and Marquietta (John) Kennedy all of Cleveland; Cindy Deakins of Augusta, GA and Lebron (Arlene) Deakins of Lake Jackson, TX; 6 great grandchildren: Loretta Deakins, Jayden Sloan, Nickolas Deakins, Lacey Deakins, Zandrall Kennedy and Ziza Kennedy; siblings: Loretta (Bobby) Clark, Louise (Ruly) Smith, Charles (Francis) Blevins, Arley (Patsy) Blevins, Paul (Shelby) Blevins, Freddy (Delores) Blevins and Betty Ware. She is also survived by 27 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 11, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Earl Farris officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony accompanied by bagpipes.

 

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, August10, 2017 at the funeral home.
